SEND family mornings at Hazel Brow Farm
Free
Description
Due to the incredible response to our SEND Family Picnic, we’re delighted to be introducing two more FREE SEND Events – SEND family mornings.
Our Hazel Brow Care Farming project has shown us just how much these kinds of opportunities are needed. We know that finding welcoming, understanding places where families can simply spend time together without judgement or expectations isn’t always easy, so we’d love to offer just that.
Join us on Monday 10th August and/or Monday 17th August, mornings from 10:00am, for a relaxed morning at Hazel Brow Farm.
There’ll be no organised activities or timetable to follow, just a chance to enjoy a peaceful morning on the farm, meet some of our friendly animals if you’d like to, enjoy a tea or coffee, chat with other families, or simply relax and take in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Whether you choose to explore or just sit and enjoy the surroundings, you’re very welcome.
These mornings are open to families with children or adults with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Our hope is to provide a space where everyone feels accepted, understood and free to be themselves.
The mornings are completely free, thanks to funding from our National Lottery Awards for All Care Farming project. Although there is no charge, we’d really appreciate it if you could book a place so we have an idea of numbers. As a small working farm, our facilities mean we have to keep numbers limited to ensure the environment remains calm and relaxed for everyone.
This Care Farming project is currently funded for 12 months, and we’d love to show just how valuable these opportunities are. By coming along and supporting these events, you’ll be helping us demonstrate the need for more inclusive opportunities like this in the future, giving us the best chance of continuing them beyond the life of the project.
Location: Hazel Brow Farm, Low Row, Richmond, North Yorkshire, DL11 6NE
Accessibility
We understand that every individual is different. Families are welcome to enjoy the afternoon at their own pace, and there is no expectation to participate in any particular activity. Our aim is to provide a calm, supportive and understanding environment where everyone feels welcome.
Sorry, no dogs except assistance dogs.
