Description
National Meadows Day at Hazel Brow Farm
Friday 4th July | 11:00am – 3:00pm
Join us at Hazel Brow Farm to celebrate National Meadows Day and discover the beauty and importance of our traditional upland hay meadows.
The Yorkshire Dales is home to some of the UK’s most species-rich hay meadows, a habitat that has become increasingly rare over the last century. These colourful meadows provide vital homes for pollinators, birds and other wildlife, while also helping to preserve the unique landscape and farming heritage of the Yorkshire Dales.
Come and explore our meadows in full bloom and learn more about the plants, wildlife and traditional farming practices that help these special places thrive.
Activities and Workshops
Throughout the day there will be a range of activities for all ages, including:
- Meadow identification and discovery activities
- Meadow-themed crafts
- Self guided nature trail
- Opportunities to learn about meadow wildlife and conservation
We are also delighted to be joined by Sustainable Swaledale, who will be sharing information about the tree nurseries they have recently established here at Hazel Brow Farm and explaining how these projects are helping to support nature recovery across the Dales.
Refreshments will be available to purchase throughout the day.
