Description
FULLY BOOKED
Update: We honestly didn’t expect such an incredible response! The demand has really highlighted the need for more opportunities like this, so we’ll be arranging another SEND Family Picnic and will announce a new date as soon as we have one organised. As a small farm, we’ve deliberately kept numbers low to ensure the afternoon remains calm, relaxed and enjoyable for everyone, we hope you can understand our reasoning for limiting numbers on this occasion. If you’ve booked a place and can no longer attend, we’d really appreciate you letting us know so we can offer your place to another family. Thank you so much for your amazing support, we’re looking forward to creating many more SEND friendly experiences through our Care Farming project.
Join us for a relaxed afternoon at Hazel Brow Farm, specially designed for families with children or adults of any age with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This is an opportunity to enjoy the peaceful surroundings of our working hill farm in an understanding, welcoming and inclusive environment, with no expectations or pressure to take part in any activities.
Whether you would like to explore, meet the animals, enjoy some gentle sensory activities or simply spend quality time together in nature, you are welcome to enjoy the afternoon in whatever way suits you and your family.

- Opportunities to meet some of our friendly farm animals if you would like to.
- Gentle sensory activities available throughout the afternoon.
- Outdoor space to explore or simply relax.
- No fixed timetable – take part as much or as little as you wish.

This event is part of Care Farming at Hazel Brow, a 12-month project funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, helping us to provide inclusive opportunities that connect people with farming, nature and the countryside.
We would love it if you could book using the calendar above just so that we have a rough idea of numbers.
Sorry, no dogs except assistance dogs.
We look forward to welcoming you to Hazel Brow Farm. If you have any questions before your visit or would like to discuss any individual needs, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
